Shanelle N. Smith, CRNP, PMHNP-BC
Ms. Shanelle Smith is a dedicated Maryland mental health professional with nursing experience caring for children, adults, and geriatric patients. She brings an ability to empathize and build positive relationships with patients and family members to the Triumph Behavioral Health team, and she is well-versed in holistic patient care that allows clients to reap the benefits of psychotherapy as well as medication management.
Ms. Smith has earned bachelor’s degrees in both psychology and nursing from Morgan State University in Baltimore. Subsequently, she received a master’s degree in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University. Her professional experience has equipped her with strong skills in serving patients from all walks of life, and Ms. Smith has a passion for supporting underserved populations and building an inclusive environment to provide behavioral health services for all.
Her nursing career includes time at Sinai Hospital as a neuroscience nurse as well as at University of Maryland as a nurse in the geriatric psychiatry department. She is skilled in crisis intervention and de-escalation, and has garnered many unique and transferable skills from her time working at Powell Recovery Center and other drug treatment centers. Ms. Smith is compassionate and committed to supporting her clients through all of life’s obstacles, and she strives to foster a warm and welcoming environment that helps patients feel seen and heard.
At Triumph Behavioral Health, a Maryland wellness center, Ms. Smith joins a team of skilled nurse practitioner therapists and experienced behavioral health providers who share her goals.
